How to Raid in Merge a Spinner

Raids are the high-risk chest in Merge a Spinner. The official blurb tells you to reach higher levels and join raids for better rewards. That is the entire pitch. What it does not tell you is that a raid on a leaky lane is a donation to the fail timer. This guide is the prep, the start, and the spend after a win.

What a raid is

A raid is a separate wave set — denser red spiked packs, and later the green snake or ice-blade bosses from the key art. You start it from a HUD button or a pad on the plot. Rewards are chests, coins, and sometimes tickets that feed spawn tier faster than a normal AFK wave. Failure usually wastes the entry cost and dumps you back on the plot with a thinner coin stack.

Servers hold eight players, but a raid is still your lane. Other plots can distract you; they do not soak your leaks.

Ready-check before you press Start

1. Front slot is your highest tier, not a leftover starter.
2. You have at least one matching pair in reserve so a mid-raid merge does not empty the strip.
3. Spawn tier is high enough that a replacement buy is not a tier-1.
4. No rebirth modal is lurking. Do not rebirth mid-raid.
5. You can actually start and retry without fighting the camera. Practice the buttons on the controls page.

If any line fails, spend coins on upgrades instead. A single spawn-tier tick prevents more raid losses than a lucky exclusive you cannot place yet.

During the raid

Start the wave. Watch the contact point. If enemies walk past the front spinner, you needed another body, not a prettier merge. Pause merging until the pack is dead, then combine. Community loaders expose Auto Start, Auto Retry, and Auto Merge as one bundle because raids are repetitive. Hands still win the first ten clears while you learn leak timing.

If the game pauses when you tab out, do not raid while cooking dinner. That is what offline farming is for. Raids want the window focused, especially on mobile where a phone lock looks like a freeze.

Retry only if the entry cost is cheap next to the chest. Blind retry is how you drain the coins you needed for spawn tier.

How to spend the chest

Order of spend after a win:

1. Spawn tier, if it is within reach.
2. A matching pair that finishes the next merge.
3. Board space.
4. Nothing cosmetic.
5. Bank the rest if a rebirth is one chest away and the checklist is otherwise green.

Do not dump a raid chest into random shop refreshes. The merge planner will tell you whether the chest actually buys a tier or just a feeling.

Why raids feel worse after a patch

Flapjack updated the experience on 3 September 2026. Wave HP and chest tables move. If a raid you cleared last week now leaks, read the updates hub before you assume your board is bad. Then compare your front spinner to the tier list again.

Raids versus scripts

Auto Retry plus Auto Merge will clear easy raids while you AFK. It will also retry a hopeless board until you are broke. If you use the auto-merge loader, cap retries and keep safety in mind. The honest path is one manual clear to learn the wave, then automation if you accept the risk.
